Dave Wakeling’s version of The English Beat roared into Toronto to play a sold out show at The Opera House last night. I remember seeing them at the Kingswood Music Theatre just north of Toronto with UB 40.
Barring none, this is the best concert that I have ever seen and I have seen a few. But some 30 years later they did not disappoint last night. Unlike many bands, they played their hits early and did not save them for the encore. With songs like Mirror in the Bathroom“, “Too Nice to Talk To“, “Can’t Get Used to Losing You“, “Hands Off, She’s Mine” and “All Out to Get You”, and “Save It For LaterThe English Beat had the audience in the palm of their hands.
The English Beat starring Dave Wakeling announced that they will be releasing a new studio album entitled ‘Here We Go Love‘ in 2015 throughout the show. The album, which will be The English Beat’s fourth studio album, is being funded through the PledgeMusic website, in which fans donate to the group.
If you are ever looking for a high energy show be sure to check out The English Beat! Check out the photos from the show below.
