Dave Grohl, frontman for super group the Foo Fighters, put new meaning into ‘break a leg’ when he fell recently at a concert, and actually broke his leg! (this only a few weeks after U2’s The Edge fell off the stage at their first show of the new tour in Vancouver).
What makes Grohl’s fall noteworthy, is that the ever smiling rocker addressed the audience while still down and out, letting the massive crowd know that he’d be back – that day to finish the show!
While Grohl was taken to and treated in hospital, the band is reported to have played a bevy of cover tunes with the Foo’s drummer filling in on vocals, until Grohl arrived back at the show and true to his word finished the rest of the concert belting out tunes from a chair.
Later, Foo Fighters tweeted a photo of Dave’s poor leg! Broken indeed.
