The Trews are at it again. There’s a new album in the works (nearly done actually), called Time Capsule chock full of crowd pleasers as well as radio hits and songs that fans won’t let go away, but more about that later. Included in this new album will be four brand new songs! The first new song, out to radio this week, is called Beautiful and Tragic.
Says singer Colin MacDonald, “Beautiful & Tragic I co-wrote with Serena Ryder. We were joking one afternoon about a band with really heavy grooves but insanely catchy melodies. Serena just started singing and it ended up being ‘Beautiful & Tragic.’ Then John-Angus and Jack worked on it and it became this cool, almost 70s glam throwback thing.”
In fact, anyone following the band on Instagram or Twitter were treated to a sneak peak of Colin and Serena singing it together, then a day or two later, John-Angus MacDonald killing it on guitar to the duo’s singing. Check it out.
It’s a different kind of song for us,” confirms John-Angus MacDonald. “Very bright and poppy but it’s got a great energy.”
