Oklahoma City’s modern psychedelic rockers “The Flaming Lips”come to Toronto in March just in time for spring break.
Q magazine named the Flaming Lips one of the “50 Bands to See Before You Die.” Flaming Lips are acclaimed for their elaborate live shows, which feature costumes, large amounts of confetti, balloons, and frontman Wayne Coyne’s signature man-sized plastic bubble, in which he traverses the audience. This is a music experience for the eyes and ears, rather than just your average clap your hands rock n roll concert. Toronto loves this band, and with the multi million dollar renovation and re-brand to the Sound Academy (now known as Rebel), this show should not disappoint.
On January 13, 2017 the fourteenth Flaming Lips album was released. Featuring a guest appearance by Miley Cyrus. And keeping with tradition by using unusual album name titles, their latest release is called “Oczy Mlody”.
