Adam Gontier ex of Three Days Grace, joined Slipknot DJ Sid, Hurt, Smile Empty Soul and Art of Dying, among others, for the Rock 4 Relief benefit at New York’s Gramercy Theatre last night. The Benefit was in aid of raising money for victims of Hurricane Sandy, through the Mercury One Foundation and included a charity auction of items donated by the artists attending.
Gontier delighted the audience with an acoustic mix of cover tunes by Jeff Buckley, Radiohead, Chris Issak, Mumford and Sons, and 2 brand new songs from his soon to be released debut solo album, due out later this year.

Unless an artist is hospitalized or otherwise incapacitated, I think an artist who committed to a tour should stay on tour until it’s over. There is no way Adam didn’t know he wasn’t going to stick with it before the tour was announced. And since he showed up for THIS event, he is obviously able to play music and sing!
As a fan that paid good money for tickets, I am very disappointed and blame Adam for not sucking it up until the tour was over. His fans, who made his career, deserve at least that much.
