The nominees for the East Coast Music Awards were just announced this morning with a few front runners and some familiar faces, as well as new comers. On the list of nominations (that immediately caught our eye) is The Trews, that little band from Antigonish NS who’s guitar heavy kick in the gut love song was just released this past Valentines Day!
Nominated for Group of the Year, Rock Recording of the Year (for Thank You … and I’m Sorry), and Fan’s Choice Entertainer of the Year, they’re in great company along with others such as Tim Chaisson, Jimmy Rankin, Paper Lions and The Motorleague among others. The Trews picked up Video of the Year in 2011 for Highway of Heroes and Rock Recording of the Year in 2012 for Hope and Ruin, and lost out last year’s nomination for Fan Choice to The Stanfields.
We wish The Trews every luck at this year’s ECMA Awards, as well as our friend Stephen Fearing of Blackie and the Rodeo Kings for his nomination for Folk Recording of the Year with his solo record, between Hurricanes.
You can find a complete list of nominees HERE. Good luck to all the nominees.
