Canada’s greatest unknown band, The Glorious Sons, release their latest video “The Contender” to coincide with the start of their 32 date “The Contender Tour” -an across Canada tour which will take them from coast to coast starting tonight in Winnipeg.
The new video is a bit of a cheesy take-off on the Battle of the Bands idea, except in the video the battle takes place in the parking lot outside of the club that they are playing, with the boys all being a member of each rival band – only to be shown up by ‘The Glorious Sons’ who are already on stage!
Coincidentally, The Glorious Sons actually got their start by winning a battle of the bands where one of the judges was The Trews guitarist John-Angus, who was so impressed by them he offered to produce their first single for free, and co produced their album The Union. The rest they say is history. “The Contender” hit #1 on Canadian Active Rock Radio last week for their first #1 single, and “The Union” produced a slew of singles and an Juno Nomination.
The Contender Tour starts in Winnipeg tonight, and make sure to check out the band and get your tickets soon, as they are selling out real fast across the country as word spreads about The Glorious Sons.
For now, the new video is only available via Much.com so click HERE to watch!
For tour dates, check out The Glorious Sons website, follow them on Twitter and Instagram for goofy road videos and all the info you need to keep up to date. We’ll be attending the shows in Kelowna and Toronto and of course will bring you more then!
