Papa Roach are one of those bands that you hear about, but don’t necessarily check out… but should!
We were introduced to Papa Roach two years ago when their video, Leader of the Broken Hearts hit Youtube and the band made a stop in Vancouver. We were able to interview drummer Tony Palermo, which was pretty cool and saw the band perform live at the brand new Hard Rock Vancouver, and were blown away by their live stage show. The energy of the entire band was through the roof.
Been following the band ever since, who are prolific Tweeters, Instagram users, and Facebook posters and keep fans up to date on every aspect of tour life.
For me, part of the allure of this band, is their story, and their personalities. Frontman Jacoby was hooked on prescription pain killers for many years, as well as booze. Hit his lowest point and nearly did himself in, but following the birth of his son, got help, got straighten out, found God and is now about 3+ yrs clean and sober. The band as a whole are very positive and upbeat. They spread the message that you are not alone, never alone. That people are just people and that if we all help each other we can have a better life. Shaddix also just started a new clothing line, Lovers are Lunatics which features tees with positive rock and roll messages (Sex, Drugs, Rock n’ Roll with the ‘drugs’ X’d out for example), and it’s doing well.
The band is currently touring Europe with Five Finger Death Punch to massive crowds, and have a new album out, No Fear. Give them a listen, check them out on social, and you’ll be in love with their down to earth style and rocking good tunes.
