Thrash Metal Gods Testament and Sepultura destroy the Commodore May 10
written by Emilio Angel
Multi-Platinum Bay area Thrash Metal icons Testament are coming back to Vancouver to play the Commodore with Brazilian titans Sepultura May 10.
Alex Skolnick, Chuck Billy and Eric Peterson are tagging along with ex Death (Rip Chuck) Gene Hoglan and amazing bass player Steve Digorgio (Sadus, Death, Autopsy) to promote 2016 Brotherhood of the Snake Album, a well suited follow up to their 2012 release Dark Roots of Earth.
A classic to the well known Bay Area Thrash scene, Testament is a show that WILL not disappoint, expect hours of headbanging and mosh pits with Chuck Billy’s dark voice and Alex Skolnick’s masterful melodies (One of Joe Satriani’s alumni as with Kirk Hammett). Testament has over 30 years of history and as one of the original Thrash Metal bands of the early 80’s, they’ve released 11 albums, each as successful and powerful as the last.
The combination of Sepultura and Testament make this an unforgettable classic 1980’s lineup, an entire night of Thrash Metal destruction. Andreas Kisser of Sepultura recently played ‘Refuse Resist’ at the closing ceremony of the 2016 Para Olympics in Sao Paolo and released their 14th album Machine Messia. Sepultura was supporting Kreator in Europe earlier this year and will be supporting Testament throughout the spring and summer.
We’re gonna be heading towards a night of pure Thrash Metal with songs like “Roots Bloody Roots”, “Practice What You Preach”, “Alone in the Dark”, “Ratamahata”, -all classics any metalhead the world over will enjoy.
