Amon Amarth brings melodic death metal to the PNE Forum
written by Luis DeJesus
Bringing Norse mythology to the people of Canada, Amon Amarth docks at the PNE Forum on April 27th for what is sure to be the heaviest night of the year (including arms day at the gym).
Amon Amarth has been surveying the lands of metal for over 2 decades now – with 12 studio albums and countless live shows they have taught the people Mythology and History. Battles. Wars. Armies. Gods and Heroes. We hear the clash of steel and can see the blood on our axes as guitar riffs fly through the air and drums pound in our hearts. We are told these stories as I imagine our father’s greatest grandfather would tell a gaggle of little ones, with guttural vocals pushed through the loudest PA technology of the day.
An Amon Amarth show is sure to be everything you’re looking for; a date night, a quiet night in, or any night you’re not quite ready to end yet. In fact, the band promises they are “bringing a massive show” that will leave our city “in ashes.” If you start to smell burning on April 27th, don’t worry, it’s just the Swedish Death Metal show.
Amon Amarth is being supported by veterans Cannibal Corpse and Obituary – 40 years young! – as well as a fresh new face, Frozen Soul.
