Papa Roach has premiered their new single Wake Up Calling and its gritty, intense, honest, and hope filled – everything we’ve come to expect from the band who just celebrated their 25th anniversary of their first album, Infest.
Not one to shy away from wearing his heart (and faith) for all to see, frontman and vocalist Jacoby Shaddix says, “Wake up Calling is a song about standing on the edge of disaster – being pulled back from the brink, and ultimately choosing love over self destruction. It’s one of the most raw, emotional songs we’ve ever written.”
The official lyrics video is subtle but tells a story, right down to the drowning man reaching up one last time with every effort of his being, to hang on to hope. The remarkability of this song, like many Papa Roach songs, is how it will speak to each person listening, in a way that has meaning to them. It’s an earworm, with substance and beauty…. the best sort of song.
