Local country music success story Washboard Union stops for a hometown show at the Commodore Ballroom before swinging east and continuing their current tour.
Aaron Grain, Chris (Dunner) Duncombe and David Roberts have been churning out several charting singles since their initial EP “In My Bones”…you can’t help but toe-tap to “Shot of Glory” and identify with the song’s wistful protagonist, and it’s this feel-good infusion in their music that has won the band fans and a laundry list of music awards.
Opening for them tonight are Calgary band Nice Horse (It’s the Zac Brown Band in miniskirts; the Runaways at a hoedown; the Spice Girls on a whiskey bender…) and northern Albertan, Aaron Goodvin, who had a massive hit this year with the quirky tune “Lonely Drum”.
Expect a ton of plaid and trucker hats at the Commodore on Thursday night…
