So, the Anyway Gang drops a new tune tomorrow!
And why is this news, you ask?
Well… if you’ve not heard yet, the band is a composite of some pretty heavy hitters in the Canadian music industry! Chris Murphy of Sloan, Sam Roberts from the Sam Roberts Band, Menno Versteeg of Hollerado, and Dave Monks from Tokyo Police Club have joined forces for a side project they affectionately self dub, “two studs, the fat guy and the nerd”, a “template popularized in the 80’s by movies like Stand By Me, and bands such as Cheap Trick.” (from their Instagram account).
Also described as a “few good friends melded into a Frankenstein’s monster of a band with stitched on limbs (the four band members) and lacking a brain.” (source: Sam Roberts)
The band’s first single is called ‘Big Night’ and drops tomorrow!
One can only wonder what it’s going to sound like with a musical variety of those four bands.. oh wait! Here’s a sneak peek from their socials 😉
